Looking Forward: Fall 2014 TV

It's September 1st! Despite the weatherman predicting 90 degree temps for this upcoming week, we are indeed moving into fall. With the change in the seasons comes a change in TV. Here's what I'm excited for:

American Horror Story: Freak Show (FX) - October 8th

I absolutely love American Horror Story. I'd venture to say it might be my favorite show. I love the format of the series. Every season is a completely different story, even though some of the actors repeatedly appear each season. I'm excited to see Michael Chiklis joining the already phenomenal cast of Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and others. This show has a really unique ability to get into my subconscious. If I watch the show before bed, without any sort of buffer, I will absolutely have dreams related to the show...which isn't great lol

Ensemble Comedies

Selfie (ABC) - September 30th

I am a sucker for a good ensemble comedy. I'm still lamenting the fact that Happy Endings was cancelled. The fall brings the return of four of my favorite ensemble comedies:

  • New Girl (FOX) - September 16th
  • The Mindy Project (FOX) - September 16th
  • Modern Family (ABC) - September 24th
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) - September 28th
A new comedy I'm excited to see is Selfie. Not only am I excited to see Karen Gillan in something after her departure from Doctor Who. I'm also ecstatic to see Da'Vine Joy Randolph in the show, who I actually went to college with.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO) - September 7th

Sadly this is the final season of Boardwalk Empire, but I'm excited to see where the story goes, especially because the premier is going to pick up SEVEN YEARS after where the finale left off. Boardwalk Empire is a period drama series that takes place primarily in Atlantic City in the 1920s and 1930s. So we're talking prohibition, bootlegging, the original Atlantic City boardwalk, etc. Drama ensues, and it's juicy!

The Blacklist (NBC) - September 22nd

The first season of The Blacklist definitely captured my attention and I'm excited for it's return. It's a basic crime series that will have you on the edge of your seat and counting down the hours until the next episode airs when the credits roll.

Grimm (NBC) - October 24th

Grimm is my current watch on the weekends when nothing else is on show. I've made it up to the third season, so I want to catch up completely before the fourth season starts in October. If you've never seen Grimm, it's a fantasy police drama in which the characters from the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales (Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, etc.) are actual people living in the in the world, specifically, in Portland, Oregon.

What Fall TV shows are you looking forward to?

  1. I think the bulk of my favorite shows are coming back in Winter. Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey...
For Fall, I am looking forward to The Walking Dead, and American Horror Story as well. I've yet to see the trailer for AHS. The poster looks good! And, I know what you mean as far as the buffer before bed. Lol I felt like I would have dreams too, especially the first two seasons. The last one, "Coven", wasn't as bizarre/creepy. Although...I did semi-look through my fingers during some parts of the intro theme music/video. Lol I love Jessica Lange! She's so mature & glamorous in like this old school Hollywood kinda way. And, I didn't know Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates were back. Cool!!!
We tried watching the first season of "Boardwalk", but fell off after a few episodes. Everyone says it's good. Might have to give it another go...
We just finished the 3rd season of House of Cards and I hope there will be a 4th, loved it! Did you see the final season of True Blood?

  5. It is also lighter so it is easier to hang on walls. Mercury is also not used in any part of the TV so it is more environment-friendly and easier to dispose. Since LEDs are smaller than the fluorescent lamps and panels, LEDs are more power efficient and consume less energy.50 inch smart tv under 30000

  6. Besides the X-Files element in this show, one of the things viewers will notice is the parent-child conflict specifically between Walter and Peter as they try to resolve cases. Fringe is big on conspiracies and some intense twists on "fringe science". afdah watch movies online

  7. The most fascinating aspect of today's Internet is that we no longer have to rely on traditional features. We also do not rely on typical terrestrial, satellite, or cable television formats in our television system. Here, the firm offers you an IPTV m3u subscription with the most significant features such as HD sports, excellent customer service, video on demand, server stability, and so on. All that is required is a good, gratifying, and affordable price.
