2016 New Year's Resolutions

I like to make realistic New Year's Resolutions that are simple, but have a big impact. To this day, the best New Year's Resolution I've made and kept is to lotion my whole body every day. I've been ash-free for years now lol. Here are some small goals for 2016:

Face mask every Sunday. Right now my face mask of choice is Charcoal Purifying Mask from Shea Shea Bakery. I plan to rejuvenate my skin with a face mask once a week. Other face care goals that aren't necessarily resolutions are drinking more water, washing my face twice a day, and washing my pillow cases more often.

Watch more TV. Most people are probably going into the New Year with the opposite resolution. I want to actually watch more TV this year. Really watch it. Not scroll social media while it plays in the background, or glance up at it while I'm working. I want to 100% watch TV while I'm watching TV this year. Looking forward to: black-ish, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, Shameless, Portlandia, and for some reason - American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Limit phone usage when I'm not alone. If I'm in the presence of other people I'm going to try my best to engage with them rather than browsing on my phone. Unless I have a specific task I want to do, I'll keep my phone to the side.

What are your 2016 New Year's Resolutions?

  1. I love that your resolutions are simple and obtainable. I haven't been doing resolutions over the years, but I really need to start caring for my skin better. So I think I'll put that lotion body everyday on my list. Also I would like to make a habit of keeping my email organized. Happy New Year to you and your family LaNeshe!! And your picture is beautiful.

    1. Do you use Gmail? I find they have the best organization tools.

  2. I really want to limit my phone usage when I'm with others - that is a good one and something I have been struggling with. Love that you have that listed here as well!

  4. These are great resolutions; I can actually relate to your TV one. I have gotten in the habit of having something on while I work, and only sort of pay attention to it. I wouldn't say I have a goal of watching MORE TV, but maybe trying to focus on what I'm watching a little bit would be okay... and then maybe turn it off while I work ;-)

    1. Yea, from now on either I'm watching TV as my activity or I'm doing work. Can't do both effectively at the same time anyway!

  5. My resolution is really not to make a resolution. To perhaps take small steps towards goals of mine, really.

  6. I like these a lot! Manageable & smart. I just downloaded Moment, an app to tell me how much time I spend on social media on my phone every day. I'm pretty scared to see what it tells me, but I hope it will help me wean myself off of using it so much.

  7. I, too am guilty of looking at my phone too often when with company :( My big resolution is to read more-- I love reading, but don't make time for it weekly. Until now, hopefully. Happy New Year!

  8. Happy New Year! I saw your comment on BeULuv's blog and thought I'd come on over to say, hi. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed the visit. I've actually gotten out of the habit of making resolutions, but I like your list. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend... :)
