One Last Cookie...

After I've had a bought with bad eating I always seem to find myself saying, "ok, one last and then I'll get back on track." Like somehow I have to eat one last cookies to get back to healthy eating. These last hoorah's work sometimes, and other times they don't.

I know when I'm making a really bad choice in eating when I'm ashamed to pray over a dish. If I can't thank God for what I'm about to eat, I probably shouldn't be eating it lol

I've been going through a lot of things when it comes to eating well and working out. I was even eating paleo for a week, which I may or may not do for an extended amount of time. My best days were last year when I had a personal trainer and cooked all the meals for the week on Sundays. The trainer is no longer financially sustainable and cooking all day long on Sunday just became exhausting.

My new goal is to work out often following Comcast OnDemand workouts or workouts I find on Pinterest. Although I know I don't feel like cooking everything on Sunday, each Sunday I want to plot out the meals that I will be cooking for the week.

How's healthy living treating you?

  1. hey hun.. what I found when doing that long meal prep on Sunday is cook some meals on the stove and cockpot others... Now is crockpot season! I find that really cuts down on time and those stews and soups really yield allot of food - Malika

    1. Thanks Malika. I definitely want to get into making more crock-pot meals, especially different soups since we're in that season!

  2. One thing that helps me is making "base" meals on sunday. For example, I can get a whole rotisserie chicken and prepare that 6 different ways to last me a week. That way I get variety without being bored and I won't have to work super hard!

Prepping lunch at night has also helped me. I save time in the morning (yay sleeping in!) and I won't be tempted to grab something "on the go."

  3. I think if you make a pact with YOURSELF to workout and eat healthy - it all falls into place.

Cooking all day does...suck. BUT you can do little things to make it easier/less time consuming...then the night before put it all together completely :)

  4. Second paragraph, hilarious. Today I polished off a jumbo bag of Cool Ranch Doritos with no shame. Lol There are some good suggestions here in the comments. Good luck, you can do it! :)

  5. I eat healthy but I love the sweets so I indulge a bit too. Cookies are one of my faves!

    1. Cookies are oh so tempting! Baked good are my weakness.

  6. There are some really good suggestions here. I would also recommend not beating yourself up over "indulging", even if it's more than 'every once in a while'. I say not to do this because if you categorize things as bad and off limits, you end up kind of wanting them even more (or, at least that's how some things are for me). So, moderation is key.

Self-motivation is also amazing to have. Working out at home is great. And once you're consistent and start seeing results, you'll want to keep going. :-)
