Out with the old, in with the new.

I've needed new clothes for a while. I've just recently started actually throwing out old and damaged clothes, and then purchasing new ones to replace them. When you still have holey, worn out clothes it's harder to find motivation to get new ones. Why buy new pants when you still have your old ones, even if it takes 15 safety pins and a yard of string to keep them on you?

The same goes for life and relationships. If you hold onto spoiled, broken and tattered places, people, and things, it doesn't leave much room in your life for newer experiences. It is hard to move on when the past still lingers.

This is my lesson for the day, out with the old, in with the new. {unless the "old" still works/fits perfectly fine :-) }

  1. I have a very hard time letting go of things too. It's kind of bothering me lately but I'm just not sure if I'm ready to take that step.

  2. I like this. I was once told, you cant fill a cup that is already full. I find that when i start clearing out stuff, its never for too long that i am with out whatever it is that i need.

  3. I am a serious declutterer (I don't believe that's a word, but it's going to work!) I am always ridding my life of the old, and I think it is the best possible way to function!

    Keep it up!

  4. Wow! I couldn't agree more about the relationships! About the clothes...I have a problem getting rid of some things that I swear I might wear someday haha. But I don't have a hard time buying new ones! So basically I have way too many clothes but it never feels like it!

  5. I need to go through my closet again. It's easier to see what you DO have when you don't have a bunch of stuff you don't (or shouldn't) wear in there cluttering it up.

  6. Embarrassing, but true!!I waled around with the nastiest boots all winter, just because I needed something to wear "until" I found a new pair. Then after 4 months one day my dog puked on them, it threw them out and two days later I had some new ones .. lol
