Postpartum Hair Shedding Update

I shared before that around 14 weeks postpartum my hair starting shedding, particularly in my edges/hairline. I styled around the shedding and eventually the shedding stopped. Now I'm in this awkward phase where my edges are growing back, so those spots are no longer bald, but they are much shorter than the rest of my hair.

To help with growing my hairline back I've been using Jamaican Black Castor Oil and the Shea Moisture Strengthen, Grow & Restore Edge Treatment. As of right now it still requires strategic styling (mainly headbands/scarves) to hide the shorter pieces in the front if I have my hair back, but I am happy that the postpartum shedding stopped and I'm on my way to a full hairline again!

Strategic headbands and scarves:

  1. So I've always had issues with my edges even when I permed my hair. I've started using the Jamaican castor oil and I've noticed it's better but I can't use tight headbands or it rubs too much. I need to give loose scarves a go, but I haven't found any I like (nor am I all that skilled at tying them). I think your hair looks great.

    1. I've been getting mine at the hair supply store, or stores like Ross or Marshalls where they have them for cheap. The tying on all three of those is SO SIMPLE. I should do a video, it'll be like a 10 second tutorial lol. I'll put that on my to-do list.

  2. I can never pull off headbands. You on the other hand make it work!
