3 Reasons to get a personal trainer

I had gotten into a real rut in the gym where everything felt repetitive, and I didn't enjoy going anymore. So I switched gyms and got a personal trainer and now I actually look forward to going to the gym again. I believe that since I got a personal trainer my effectiveness at the gym has probably doubled. Here are 3 reasons to get a personal trainer:

Accountability: When you have a personal trainer, it won't only be you who knows if you skip a workout day. When you are scheduled to meet with a trainer, you are less likely to skip a gym day than if you were just planning to be alone. Not wanting to disappoint your trainer can be a great motivator on a day when you really don't want to workout.

Personal Attention: Having a personal trainer gives you one-on-one attention when it comes to your exercise regimen. It is nice to have an hour out of the day where the focus is on you, and you don't have to feel guilty about it.

Expertise: A personal trainer is more knowledgeable than most of us on the most effective exercise plan for our bodies. They will be able to help you maximize your time in the gym, and keep your workout diverse, which is very important.

Do you go to the gym? Do you have a personal trainer? What keeps your trips to the gym "fresh?"

  1. I work at a gym so I practically live with a dozen or so amazing trainers. I've lost 100 pounds since I went to work there and they've been a big part of it

    1. A trainer is good, second to that I would say is joining a gym that has fun classes like zumba that you can do. For me, I'm easily board by solo workouts, but classes make it fun.

I would love to have a personal trainer but can not afford it. There are so many other options, though. We all just have to figure out what works for us and then stick to it.

I'm on my way to losing 100 pounds. There have been lots of up and downs, yes, but I am still pushing forward and doing my best to rid myself of all this excess weight.

    1. Yea, it's definitely an investment to have a trainer. Another great perk of my new gym is the free group classes, which are another good way to make working out fun.
